Tappahannock, VA — The Town of Tappahannock is thrilled to announce the completion of Phase One of its new Central Park, a vibrant community space that offers something for residents of all ages. Located in the heart of town, the park now boasts pickleball and tennis courts, a colorful children’s playground, and a refreshing splash pad that will be open during the spring and summer months.

While weather delays postponed the originally planned October celebration, the park is open for use, with an official grand opening celebration set for 2025. “The completion of Phase One is just the beginning,” said Mayor Roy Gladding. “We’re building a park that will serve as a gathering point for our town, offering a space where people can play, relax, and take pride in the community we’re all a part of.”

Town Manager Eric Pollitt shared the town’s excitement, noting that, despite the weather setbacks, the park is ready to welcome residents. “We are proud to see Tappahannock Central Park becoming a reality,” Pollitt said. “The grand opening next year will be an exciting event for our community.”

Phase Two of the park’s development is set to begin soon and will include the construction of restroom facilities and shaded seating, making the park even more inviting for events and gatherings. For more information and updates on the grand opening and future park developments, residents are encouraged to visit the Town of Tappahannock’s website or follow them on social media.
